When you are launched intot eh cold place after doing the snowboarding mini game, go to the north east of the map, and touch the hot spring. Now go to the area where you have to put the flags down in order to know where you are running. Go right from the hut in the middle as far as you can until you leave screen. There will be a cave in the next screen. Go in and talk to the person inside, they will be desgusted that you tiuched the hot spring, and attack you, defeat this person to recieve the Alexander materia. Note. this process must be done fast before cloud and party pass out due to the cold.

Effect: Defeat the last boss on disc 1 very easy

During the game at the sleeping forrest and the wired place
How:
When you get to the time where you look after Aries, and enters the sleeping forrest and use the fute, you will then come to a new place. When you come to the new place, will you see a chest i front of you. That chest has a Water Ring. Equip it to your best character (I will say Cloud) and go to the boss (you must see lotīs of events and where Aries dies). Now after the event where Aries dies, itīs boss time. If you have equiped the Water Ring this will be an easy battle. The Water Ring makes all water damage to HP (in other words, you drain water damage) and the last boss on disc 1 can only use water attacks.
