When you get to cinnabar island, you can do this cheat.
How:
Go to Viridian City and speak to the man who blocked your way early in the game. Then fly to cinnabar island and surf up and down the right hand side. Rarely, but it DOES happen, a Lv 140 Snorlax will appear. Catch it with a master ball,(assuming you have one), then do the 'rare candy cheat'. Feed the snorlax Rare Candy 'till it is level 250. You will never use another fight! (Only use this pokemon in a link up battle, if you battle it on one player, its level will go down to 100) Have fun!

Make sure your Grass Pokemon knows Leech Seed and Toxic.
How:
In a battle, Leech Seed your Victim then Toxic it. Then poison will take away vasts amount of HP, and the Leech seed doubles the amount of damage done to your foe and restores lots of your Pokemons HP as well! Bet you never knew that...

first make sure you have 2 awakenings in your 6th position then talk to the man in veridian city that blocked your way at first then when he asks you if you are in a hurry and say yes then talk to hime agian but this time say no then after he shows you how to catch a weedil fly to cinnibar island and surf up and down on the right then a missingno comes up run away and keep surfing up and down until you come to the next pokemon that should be a powerful marrowwack then run away and you sould have the picture of a flowernext to your awakening
