Instead of attacking it with your moves or the normal attack (which only does 1 damage to it) just throw a gravelrock or thorn or somthin thrown what does damage this is a K.O for certain (if it hits)

How:
Rather than facing those annoying pokemon at the beginig just take a load of gravelrocks and throw them. This kills most of them instantly(K.O)
Do remeber though to train on some though because the pokemon get stronger the further you go and will not eventually have much effect anymore
