In order to gain a clear lead, use long jumps as long as you can, it's faster than running, then when you are at the first hole in the mountain that the cannon balls roll out of go inside it and wait. You will then be teleported to the top and you will have beaten Koopa

Effect: How to kill those annoying penguins on the 3rd course, first snowy course.
When:
Whilst holding one or the penguins
How:
Carry the penguins over to the edge of the bottom of the mountain. Then jump and then let go. It will sometimes work but one sure way of doing it is to put the penguins on the wooden lift at the bottom of the mountain and they will walk off to their doom. That will end their annoying cries.

How:
Use the cannon to get to the top of the castle and get the flying cap. Fly down to the cannon and aim just higher than the top of the castle. Go as high as you can until you get to a higher platform. Hold forward on the control stick and you will fall just inside the castle but the music is the same. Go through the door and you will be outside but with the wrong music. Back flip over the door to return the game to normal.
