In order to become Classic Mario you must be in Boo's Mansion
How:
When you first enter Boo's Mansion you will see a door on your right and a book case on your left. Go into the door on your right. When you first enter the room you will see a vase with a box in front of it. Jump onto the box then jump into the vase. When you do this, you will pop out as the Classic Mario, complete with the old sound effects. The transformation will wear off as soon as you leave the room.
