At the "Contracts" screen, found by accessing "Team Management".
How:
Save before doing this. Select the player you wish to reduce the salary of and drop his salary to half. Change the "resigning in" period to 5-years. Then offer contract. Usually the player will accept, but if he declines, reload the game and offer him a better deal. On rare occasions, the current deal isn't good enough, but he is content with the conditions until he leaves. This allows you to save money after matches and help prevent the tem going into debt.

There are several ways to do this. Renegotiate contracts, give them playing time and make the right (sensible) responses when interviewed. If you have too many players to keep on the pitch, loan them out - it gives them morale and experience, but with none of the cost!

How:
Select a cup/league from the challenges menu and progress onto the teams select menu. From the long list, replace one of the high star teams with a 5-star team (such as Arsenal). Begin the season and keep selecting "Quick Sim". Do this for every match and you should win the league/tournament. This saves you plenty of time and you can unlock lots of points and complete a lot more of the challenges
