First get any type of bed and put in your iventory. Go into your house and up to the main bedroom. Stand at the end of your bed and press the A button.
A message will ask if you want a different bed. Choose 'yes' then select the bed from your inventory. That bed will then be used instead of the original.

They'll usually put these gifts in their house, displacing whatever was there before. Check the recycle bin at your Town Hall and the item you wanted from their house may be in there.

Get out the shovel and find one of the many rocks and Hit it, if you get the right one a money bag will pop out of it, if this happens keep hitting it and you will be surprised at how much money you could get, up to 2000 bells or more, the rock changes each day so you will have to find it again each day.
