Dark Cloud Cheats for PlayStation 2 Effect: great sword When: Any time after getting the serpent sword How: To get the extremely powerful 7th Heaven Sword you should start with the Serpent Sword, then upgrade it to the Evilcise Sword. After that upgrade it to the Drain Seeker Sword. Upgrade that to the Dark Cloud Sword. Finally you can upgrade it to the 7th Heaven Sword. The sword has a max attack power of 240, with End and Sp of 99, amd Mp of 110. It takes alot of work to get, but it's accomplished easily by going to the back levels of the dungeons. Submitted By: Anonymous Effect: Gets music box key When: Shipwreck How: You will need a music box key to fight the boss in "Shipwreck.&quo t; To get the music box key, you'll need to complete the Cathedral, then go to the Divining House and ask the nice lady to tell you about the queen's lost lover. Then go to the the guy you meet at first when you come to Queens (don't remember the name). He won't be in his shop but there will be a key. That key will open the music box. Staus breaking only uses 40% of you weapon power. Go here to experiance 100 more levels harder then before Submitted By: Anonymous Effect: An easy way to beat the games third boss When: On the final level of the 'Shipwreck' How: This is an easy method of beating one of the games tougher bosses - The Ice Queen. Before you attempt to defeat the Ice Queen, head to the nearest shop and stock up on 'Repair Powder' , you'll have a long fight on your hands so ensure you always have enough to repair your weapons. You must also buy three or four bombs, they are quite expensive but make the final stages of the boss encounter a lot quicker. Now head down to the 'Shipwreck', after a small cut-scene the battle will begin. As soon as the fight starts change into Xiao, then move behind one of the columns, this will protect you from the Ice Queens homing freeze attacks. When you hear the attack collide with the column, simply jump out and fire a few Catapult rounds at her, then jump back behind the column when she attacks again. Repeat this until you break the ice shield that’s protecting her, now turn into Ruby and equip your bracelet with the fire attribute, now bombard her with your attacks! This will take a lot of energy off her, so she will then produce another ice shield, repeat the method you used before until it breaks down again! As you take more energy off she will close in on you, now she is close enough for you to throw bombs at her. These take down her ice shield in one hit, so as soon as her shield is down, change to Ruby and use your fire attacks on her, Repeat the process with the bombs until she eventually dies. Phew! Catching fish is simple, keep totally still and wait for a fish to see the bait, when it approaches, move the line a bit to get it interested. Then when your float goes completely underwater prees X to reel him in. You can also save up for cool items by earning fishing points! When: Oasis in Muska Racka How: Go to the fishing sign in Muska Racka and select 'fish' until you see the pond with 4 very small fish in it. Catch all of these small fish with potato cakes then quit fishing. select 'fish' from the board again and in the next pond there will be either the Maryan Garadan or the Baron Garadan. when you have cought it quit then fish again and it will happen like this until 4 little fish re-appear in the pond. Submitted By: FinalFantasyFanatic Effect: upgrading fish sword When: anywhere How: Once you have caught a Mayan Garadan you can then exchange 2500 fishing points for the fish sword (can't remember what it is called). You can only build up this sword to the next level after you have caught about 5 Maryan Garadan and 2 Baron Gradan, no matter how high it's stats. then you can build it up again after you have caught a lot more of both. Submitted By: FinalFantasyFanatic Effect: How to beat dark genie When: Fighting dark genie How: The dark genie has 3 stages of attack. 1) he will plunge his hands under the ground and try and attack you. For this you have to match the colour of the eye on his hand to the elemental value of your weapon (red-fire. Blue-ice. yellow-thunder. green-wind. pink-holy) He will have 2 different colours at a time so pick 1 and hope. When he closes his wings the colours willl change. 2)His head. Now use a missile-character (Xioa, Ruby, Osmond) to shoot at his head. Watch out for the massive laser, it will probably kill you) and the white liney things (i don't think you can avoid these). Just keep hacking at him, he'll die eventually. 3) Final form. He now transforms into his final form (as with all good bosses) and this time has 2 skeleton guards with him just to annoy you. Use missile-characters again. When he slams his hand down red wavey things will some your way, these are easily avoided. Other attacks eat your health like nothing. So keep those recovery-items on hand. This shouldn't be any problem if you have built up all your weapons. Otherwise he'll kick you shite-less in a second. then sit back and watch the beautiful ending. Then go back onto your save and a new area 'the demon shaft' will be avaliable. This is 100 floors of old eneimies (and some new ones), the enimies change about every 20 floors and your reward is the Chronicle Sword2. make sure you have a lot of supplies! To aquire a random gem (diamond ruby amethyst etc.) you must get an "Excellent" ; rating in the duel. To do this you must get all the moves into the brighter portion of the duel box. These gems are VERY good. And can be aquired quite easily. They sell for about 600 gold each. Up that weapon to level 5 then status break it and put it on Xiao's weapon. Xiaos sling shot should be quite a bit stronger. Submitted By: Smashamof Effect: Gives Beast attachments When: When fighting beasts in the dungeons How: When fighting in the dungeons use bombs, bomb nuts, etc. and after the creature dies it will leave behind a related beast attachment(for example use a bomb to kill a bat and get the flying beast attachment) Submitted By: nvermor Effect: Easy level up When: During the game How: Take one of your strong characters (i.e., most health, strongest weapon) but not the Ridepod, and go to a dungeon that you can get minimal damage done to you. Kill the enemy with your strong person, and immediately afterwards, press L3 to switch characters or R3 to switch to the Ridepod. This is especially useful when trying to build up the Ridepod since he loses fuel easily. This makes it so he does not move or get hurt. Submitted By: Forest Fan
