Change Clothing
Color for Free |
|
When:
|
during gameplay |
|
How:
|
New T-shirts,
Hoodies etc. cost
cold, hard cash; so
if you want to roll
in certain colors it
will cost you. To
change your
clothing's color
free of charge,
press pause and go
to "Edit
Skater." Buy a
clothing item and
leave the store. Now
return to the store
and select
"Custom
T-shirt."
Select a color but
instead of checking
out, choose
"Remove
Item" on your
receipt to remove
the Custom T-shirt.
Now, go back to the
store, (do not exit)
and you can still
change the color of
what you are
wearing. |

Can You Spell Girl?
Glitch Trick |
|
When:
|
during gameplay |
|
How:
|
While Skate is a
gentleman's game,
there's an exploit
that you can use if
you are tearing your
hair out for the
incredibly difficult
Can You Spell Girl?
Pro Challenge -- and
yes, it's cheating.
First, though, start
the challenge and
quit out. Now, make
sure you haven't
moved the two items
involved in the
challenge: the ramp
and the rail. Go
reset both of these
if they've been
moved, or for good
measure. Now you'll
need another rail
like the one in the
challenge setup. It
must be from far
away to work, you
can't use the nearby
one at the bottom of
the spillway, so you
have some dragging
to do. Go up the
spillway tubes and
ramps until you find
the rail way up the
hill past the
overhanging bridge
area. Pull that back
and Be sure not to
touch the challenge
objects with it.
Pull it in between
the picnic table
ramp and the rail so
it's parallel with
the challenge's
rail. Leave it and
start the match.
Now, the first trick
will occur and it
will seem like
nothing's changed.
But the second
fellow will bail
after jumping
awkwardly and -- lo
and behold -- your
grind rail has
appeared! Yes, they
will keep bailing.
So big ollies,
adding some spin and
so forth will get
you a victory.
Finally, be sure to
hit quit instead of
retry if given the
option -- this is a
byproduct of the
glitch. You will
still complete the
challenge if you
choose quit. |

Alien Manual Shop
Easy Victory |
|
When:
|
during gameplay |
|
How:
|
The Alien Manual
Shop Pro Challenge
is one of the game's
most difficult
challenges --
especially for
people with
overstressed thumbs.
The good news is
that you won't need
to do any touchy
manuals at all for
this Challenge if
you don't want to.
Instead, get off
your board and hop
onto the first
planter. Run across
the planter and hop
up the step, then
off the other side.
Stand still and get
on your board again.
This will activate
the first bullet
point of your
challenge. Now, get
off your board and
hop onto the next
planter. Hop across
the gap between the
planters. Run across
the last section of
planter and hop off.
Stand still and get
back on your board
to inexplicably
finish the
challenge. Note for
non-cheaters: If you
want to take the
challenge on without
cheating, try coming
at it backwards so
you can just manual
down the little step
without bothering
with an ollie. The
gap... well that's a
different story. But
still, hit it
backwards. |

Easy Throwdown
Victory |
|
When:
|
During gameplay |
|
How:
|
First, find the
"boob"
used in the
Throwdown in
Lighthouse Park. You
can head west, out
the park gate, to
find a big blue
bench. Drag it over
and place it
lengthwise and so
it's not in your own
way. Now activate
the Throwdown and
choose the other
skaters. Choose the
Lighthouse for your
venue and each
opponent will glitch
out and bail due to
the foreign object.
Complete this list
for a Trophy /
Achievement. Note:
to beat Pros at a
Throwdown without
cheating, try doing
double or triple
kickflips. They
cannot copy them. |

Easy Dunk Slam
Challenge |
|
When:
|
During gameplay |
|
How:
|
Here's the thing:
you don't need to
touch the backboard,
you just need to
plant in front of
it. The key to this
is a broken picnic
table on the upper
level of the area,
to the right of
where you spawn.
Drag this down to
the hoop, and drag
one of those quarter
pipes on top of it.
These two things
stack to make a hand
plant spot on the
lip of the elevated
half pipe that's
high enough to
glitch out the
photo. Put the table
under the hoop,
touching the pole of
the hoop, making the
first part of a two
part ramp. Inch the
quarter-pipe ramp up
on top of this, far
enough up the table
so it just clears
the bottom of the
hoop -- and so your
skater won't hit it.
Now, back up about 3
pushes, go straight
up your double
decker ramp and
handplant it -- you
seem to need to
tweak the handplant
to get this
challenge to
complete. |

Eject... |
|
When:
|
During gameplay |
|
How:
|
Note: You may be
able to do this
while stopped, but
we were best able to
pull this off while
slowly moving.
First, you must be
on flat ground. Hop
off your board with
Y then quickly hop
back in -- so it
looks like one
smooth motion. But
just as you feet
near the board, hold
Y + B + Right
Trigger + Left
Trigger. You may
need to practice
this to understand
the timing. This
will launch you
skater about 50 feet
skyward, immensely
lengthening your air
time when trying to
bail and giving you
more points for
Thrasher Hall of
Meat Challenges. |

Easy BLAOW! Hip to
Hip Transfer |
|
When:
|
During the game |
|
How:
|
For the tricky hip
transfer there's no
need to play by the
rules. Skate to the
corner that you
first have to launch
off of for the
transfer. Set your
Session Marker and
push once towards
the middle of the
opening of the
marked corner. If
you go too fast you
will bail. Get off
your board when you
get to that corner
opening, but make
sure to NOT touch
where the transfer
begins. Walk across
the pool towards
where your supposed
to land the
transfer. Jump once
(not on your board)
then jump one more
time getting on your
skateboard in mid
air, landing on the
bottom wall of where
you have to land the
transfer. This
should highlight the
transfer requirement
on the list. Grind
the siding to
complete the
challenge. |

Eject! Version 2.0 |
|
When:
|
During gameplay |
|
How:
|
This version of the
automatic bail is
much harder to pull
off, but you do go
higher and thus it
is more effective
for Thrasher Hall of
Meat Challenges if
you can get it down.
First, press the L1
very lightly to
crouch all the way
down, but not touch
your board. Coast
while crouching and
quickly tap the
combo for a No
Comply (push with
your back foot and
flick an ollie --
it's in your trick
book, and it matters
which foot is
forward!). This must
be done on flat
ground. If you do
this right you
should spring off
your board and catch
some serious air. |

For Jam with Danny

Hint: Easy SKATE Win |
|
When:
|
During the game |
|
How:
|
Just like in the
first Skate, adding
540 degrees of spin
will overwhelm the
simple computer
characters'
programs. They
either won't try the
move, or they will
bail. Remember to
push both analog
sticks in the
direction of your
spin to spin faster.
Honestly, they'll
usually bail on a
360 spin move too,
so as long as you're
spinning, you're
winning!
If you can't get the
height needed for a
540 spin, triple
flips will also trip
up your computer
opponents. These
require you to flick
and hold a kickflip,
allowing the board
to spin multiple
times before you
land.
Also, adding a
footplant upon
landing, then
continuing to spin
will cause the spin
to add up. Spin 360
degrees, footplant,
and spin 180 degrees
and you'll have an
unstoppable 540. |

Hint: Skitching |
|
When:
|
During gameplay |
|
How:
|
Cars go about twice
as fast as you can
push yourself on
flat ground, so
there are advantages
to grabbing on to
them when you get a
chance. It is a good
way to get an extra
boost during a race,
find some extra
speed for a big gap,
escape a chase or
just another way to
get around New San
Vanelona.
Press and hold the
'world grab' button
(same button for
handplants and
grabbing objects) to
hitch a ride onto
the back bumper of
cars. You can grab
onto them at a stop
light or a stop sign
or cars will also
slow down when you
swing in behind them
(while holding down
the world grab
button) when you
have some speed.
Once you grab on,
the cars will start
to speed. However,
they still have to
obey the rules of
the road and they
might get stuck
behind a slower car
ahead or stop at a
light. So, keep your
eyes on what is
happening ahead and
be ready to let go.
When you let go from
the side, hanging on
with one hand, you
pull yourself
forward for an extra
boost. Make McFly
proud and watch for
sports cars, they
drive faster.
